One of the most common questions we get is, “Which flush plate do I need?” You must identify your cistern to answer this. Our article about Geberit Kappa cisterns explains this further. Finding the correct cistern and flush plate is tricky as previous owners often installed the system in your new home.
You may not know the installed cistern or flush plate. Geberit makes five different cistern ranges. Their flush plates are not interchangeable.
Simply knowing it is a Geberit cistern is not enough. However, key features help you identify your Geberit cistern. This guide shows you how to find a Geberit Sigma cistern. Luckily, the unique code may still be on the plate’s reverse side. You see the code is 115.770.11.5 in this example.
Your code will be in the same format xxx.xxx.xx.x but maybe a different code. You just need to type it into AI or a search engine and it will reveal which flush plate you have.
What If You Have No Flush Plate?
We get many emails from people who are looking to replace or fix their flush plate but the original one is not present.
Fortunately , there are still ways to identify which flush plate you need.
Below is what you will see if you have no flush plate, it will be just the back plate and flush rods, or they may even be missing, the image on the right is the inside of the cistern.
If you have the back plate simply remove it and you will be able to see inside the cistern, where you should see the code below.
As with the code for the flush plate mentioned earlier, simply type this into AI or a search engine and it will tell you which cistern you have.
